How to Teach Anger Management to Your Child

Most of us recognize the continuing escalation of violence around us, due to intolerance, and many of us blame it on somebody else. Parents teach their children, all the time, and when one of us displays road rage, while our child is in the car, we teach a brand new skill set.

Although, road rage is inappropriate behavior, at any time, and can get you killed, most children who are exposed to it, will duplicate the actions of their parents, when they are old enough to drive.

So the first step, is to set an example and, possibly, use some of these ideas, for yourself. Studies show that anger causes atherosclerosis, the build-up of plaques in the arteries, that is a major factor in developing high blood pressure, heart disease, heart attack, and premature death.

Also, during a temper tantrum, adrenaline and blood pressure levels rise beyond normal. This behavior is more dangerous to parents bodies due to the normal wear and tear already existing.

now, you may be convinced that anger can kill you, but lets look at one more factor. You could hurt someone else, find yourself in prison, or get yourself killed due to inciting violence against others. There are other people, who are having difficulty dealing with anger management too.

Back to our children: All children need exercise and they are naturally full of energy. Look at any other species, and you will see the same behavior. Should we drug our dogs, cats, and parrots, when they display youthful exuberance?

children have to run, jump, and shout. So let them play in the back yard, in a park, and get them involved in sports, Yoga, dance, or martial arts. You will never regret letting your child enjoy life, constructively learn in the process, and just be a kid.

For all of us, there is a time to be quiet and a time to shout. children need years to learn this, so lets keep them active in the process. Keep them away from the television, Internet, and video games, except for rainy days. Coloring books, board games, and reading are also good activities for rainy days.

A heavy bag is a great tool for letting anger out. You and your child can use it together. You can learn to punch and kick it, for the aerobic benefits, as well. If you have a friend who is a boxer or martial artist, you could get some pointers. after just a 20-minute session, I guarantee you, and your child, will have dealt with anger - there will be little, if any, left.

teach your child forgiveness, through your own example. I am not asking you to let people walk all over you. However, let grudges go; life is really too short to keep a feud going.

You can also control your childs circle of friends, just by getting him or her involved in, group activities such as: League sports, dance, yoga, or martial arts. The parents who have their children in these activities want the best for them and are willing to sacrifice their time, or money, to get it.

This will keep your child busy, happy, and active, with a pre-selected crowd of friends, who have parents that care. This is a win win situation and well worth the investment.

This is not to say that every child you run into, at these functions, will be perfect, but in the above mentioned activities, all of them are structured, adult-supervised, and rules for behavior are in place. This form of organization becomes a habit, your child will follow these guidelines, and bring them home.

Here is another idea that will help. Have your child take care of a pet or a plant, every day. children love to care for animals or plants, but they still need supervision. The result of this will be, your child learns compassion.

Compassion will keep anger in check every time.

It is expect that nearly every household in the united States has at least one radio. The invention of the radio was dependent upon two previous discoveries: the electromagnet and telegraph.

The electromagnet was discovered in 1825. This discovery opened the doors to global communication! Five years later, Joseph Henry successfully transmitted an electric current via wire which was stretched over a mile and which caused an electromagnet to trigger the sounding of a bell. Thus, the electric telegraph was born. One of the most recognizable names associated with the telegraph is Samuel Morse who is most notable for the series of dots (brief sound) and dashes (more sustained sound) which was used to transmit messages by alphabet code (thus known as Morse Code). Telegraph became the sole means of rapid long distance communication until 1877 and the invention of the telephone.

Batteries are interesting, aren`t they? Used by the general consumer, they are small, but powerfully packed instruments which produce power used for many cameras, alarm clocks, radios, and other devices. What makes this power production possible? In the case of the telephone and it`s early design and use, batteries produced the essential source of power for the electromagnet.

Batteries have two ends to which one is assigned a `+` or positive, and the other a `-` or negative. When a battery operated device is switched on, the electrons which are produced by the batteries, quickly move from the negative side to the positive side of the batteries. Something was needed to interrupt this rapid flow of electrons or find the batteries totally expended in a brief time. In order to accomplish this, a wire is often inserted between the positive and negative terminals and a `load`, such as a radio, creating a small magnetic field in the wire. The electromagnetic waves which are present now, have the capability to transmit sounds (speech, music, and so on) as well as visual images undetected by sight through the air.

There are several scientists who must be mentioned as essential to the telephone as it is known to most of us. Mahlon Loomis created wireless telegraph. Guglielmo Marconi, proved the possibility of radio communication. In 1985 Marconi, transmitted and received a radio signal. Using the Morse alphabet, he sent the first wireless signal which was transmitted across the English Channel and in due time, he was able to receive the Morse letter S which began in England and reached Newfoundland which became the beginning of transatlantic radiotelegraphy (1902).

Wireless signals gained far reaching use as a means of communication for rescue work when an accident or disaster occurred at sea. In 1899 the united States Army began utilize wireless communication which originated from a lightship off Fire Island. The US Navy was about two years behind the Army in utilizing wireless telegraphy.

In 1903, President Roosevelt (Theodore) and King Edward VII communicated via this new and improving technology. The well known Robert Perry, using radiotelegraphy, conveyed the message that he had `found the Pole`.

The first AM radio entered the world of telecommunication in the early 1900`s. This device made the use of somewhat weak waves possible for communication. This was the time when the term `radio`, as we know today for radio devices, began to be used.

It is believed that in December 23, 1900, professor Reginald Aubrey Fessenden was the first person to successfully transmit human voice by radio waves. By 1915, speech was first sent across the united States beginning in New york City and sent to San Francisco. Somewhat later, transmission occurred across the Atlantic Ocean from Arlington, Virginia, to Paris at the Eiffel Tower.

It is truly fascinating all the scientists and the physics theories that led to the invention of the radio. Marconi, Alexander Popov, Oliver Lodge, Fessenden and many others, have all made important contributions to an invention that made the world so different, that most likely none of them would envision. The radio era was born.

Let us review from a biomechanical perspective the downswing before introducing the physical side of the equation into this phase. The downswing begins at the completion of the transition. Weight shift onto the front foot continues during this phase of the swing. The generation of torque is created in this phase of the swing and then is transitioned up through the body into the club.

The majority of torque in this phase of the golf swing is generated by the glutes, hamstrings, quads, and core of the body. (Fleisig, Biomechanics of Golf) The torque created in the lower body creates acceleration in the upper body as energy is transferred into the clubhead. Studies indicate muscle activity also occurs within the pectoralis major (chest), lattimus dorsi (upper back), and rotator cuff muscles during the swing. (Geisler, Kinesiology of the Full golf Swing) The downswing is complete at the point in at which impact occurs with the golf ball.

As we can see numerous muscles groups are involved in the execution of the downswing, most notably the muscles of the lower body. These muscles (glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps) are responsible for torque development in this phase of the golf swing. Torque is the development of power in a rotational movement pattern. Power in relation to the golf swing is measured through clubhead speed, and the greater the clubhead speed the farther the ball will travel.

This all points back to need for torque development in the backswing if the desire is to increase the clubhead speed of your swing. Outside of improving the efficiency at which the execution of the downswing occurs, the second variable to increasing the torque (i.e. power) development in the downswing is through training your muscular system.

The process by which we can accomplish this goal is through the utilization of golf fitness exercises. These exercises will increase the ability of your lower body muscles to output more power in a rotational pattern (torque). two physical components are necessary for this to occur. Number one is the development of more strength in the muscles of the lower body, and number two is increasing the ability of these muscles to output more power.

Research indicates in order for the end of goal of higher levels of torque development to occur increased levels of strength must first be developed in the muscles of lower body. golf fitness exercises that can accomplish this goal will utilize exercise incorporating the muscles of the lower body involved in the golf swing. As well as utilize them in a functional and cross-specific manner to the golf swing.

Keep in mind torque is the development of power in a rotational movement pattern. During the downswing phase of the golf swing, the musculature of the lower body is responsible for torque development. In order to increase the torque outputs of these muscles the first step is to increase the muscular strength of these muscles. The squat with physio-ball is one such exercise that can accomplish this task.
