According to the American Cancer society, 50% of all men and 33% of all women in the United States, will develop some sort of cancer in their lifetime. In a healthy body, cells divide at a controlled rate so as to grow and repair damaged tissues and replace dying cells. This predetermined rate of cell division is what keeps our bodies healthy. If cells keep multiplying when new ones arent necessary, a mass of tissue, called a growth or tumor, is formed. A benign tumor is not cancerous, and can occur anywhere in the body without spreading to other parts and does not come grow back if removed. Malignant tumors however, are cancerous and can be life-threatening. Malignant tumors grow uncontrollably, interfere with normal metabolic and organ functioning, and have the ability to invade other tissues. All cancer cells have two things in common, they grow uncontrollably, and they have the ability to metastasize (spread to other parts of the body). Possible contributors to the development and growth of cancer, can be divided into three categories:
1. Externals unhealthy environments and exposure to air and water pollution, chemicals, pesticides and herbicides from our food supply.
2. Internal Factors include genetics, infections, and a depressed immune system.
3. Lifestyle factors (what we can readily control) including diet, smoking, drinking, and sun exposure. People exposed to cigarette smoke have significantly higher rates of lung cancer. Regular alcohol consumption increases the risk of mouth and throat cancers. A diet that is high in fat and low in fiber is associated with a greater risk of colon rectal cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. According to a study released by the Harvard University school of Public health, poor diet, lack of exercise, and unhealthy lifestyle elements are responsible for about 65% of cancer deaths.
The following is a breakdown of the overall percentages of cancers many researchers attribute to different lifestyle factors: 1. Poor diet and obesity 30%
2. Smoking 30%
3. Genetics 10%
4. Carcinogens in the workplace 5%
5. Family history 5%
6. Lack of exercise 5%
7. Viruses 5%
8. Alcohol 3%
9. Reproductive Factors 3%
10. Socioeconomic Status 3%
11. Environmental Pollution 2%
Many experts believe that what these factors have in common is that they increase the bodys exposure to free radicals. Free radical damage is an important factor that leads to uncontrolled cellular growth, which is characteristic of cancer. Another significant factor are poor dietary choices and cigarette smoke because they impair the immune system. The immune system is responsible for destroying pre-cancerous cells before they develop into cancer. There are more than a hundred different varieties of cancer; they have different causes and symptoms, and vary in aggressiveness.
However, there are four broad categories
1. Carcinomas Cancers that affect the skin, mucous membranes, glands, and internal organs.
2. Leukemias Cancers of blood forming tissues.
3. Sarcomas Cancers that affect muscles, connective tissue, and bones.
4. Lymphomas Cancers that affect the lymphatic system.
The seven classic early warning signs of cancer:
1. Change in bowel or bladder habits
2. A sore that does not heal
3. unusual bleeding or discharge
4. Thickening or lump in breast or elsewhere
5. Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing
6. Obvious change in a wart or mole
7. Nagging cough or hoarseness
Recommendations:
Boosting the immune system is very helful for increasing white blood cells and macrophages that are known to attack and literally eat cancerous cells. We suggest a high quality whole food supplement, like VITAFORCE that is complete and made from whole foods. It should be high in natural Vitamin C as well as a wide array of essential nutrients. Make sure you know what you are getting from the nutritional label.
An herbal detoxification program may be helpful in removing aluminum, other heavy metals, and thousand of other toxins and poisons from the body. These toxins have been shown to have an overall significant depressing effect on the immune system. Look for organic whole herb formulas. If interested, take a look at our selection of herbal formulas.
Eat a minimum of 50% raw organic foods; including broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, spinach, carrots, pumpkin, squash, yams, apples, all berries, cantaloupe, cherries, grapes, plums, Brazil nuts, and legumes. All of these foods have important nutrients and phytochemicals, which are important in fighting and preventing cancer. Berries protect DNA from damage. Many of the plant pigments in red, yellow, orange, and blue fruits and vegetables, are good sources of antioxidants (destroys free radicals).
Eat raw garlic liberally as it enhances the immune system and is a good cancer fighter.
Eat 10 raw almonds every day. Almonds contain Laetrile, which has anti-cancer properties.
Green tea has many cancer fighting properties, including a substance known as EGCg, which has been found to cut off blood vessels that feed cancerous tumors.
Eat as many tomatoes as possible. Tomatoes contain a phyto-nutrient and antioxidant called lycopene, which protects against and fights cancer.
Drink fresh live juices including varying combinations of the following juices including beetroot, beet greens, carrot, cabbage, and asparagus. Also drink grape, black cherry, and all dark colored juices.
Drink steam distilled water only. Use a filter for your shower.
Increased levels of radium in public tap water has been associated with increased rates of lung, bladder, and breast cancers, as well as leukemias.
Get regular exercise. exercise helps to promote oxygen in the tissues. Cancer cannot live in the presence of oxygen.
yoga and deep breathing can also be very helpful.
Because of potential low-level radiation leakage, avoid microwave ovens. Sit a minimum of 8 feet away from televisions and avoid x-rays.
Avoid chemicals such as hairsprays, cleaning products, fresh paints, and garden pesticides.
Remove all other known and suspected carcinogens from your life and home.
As much as possible, avoid stress.
Things to Avoid:
All Animal Foods: dairy foods (milk, cheese, butter, cream, ice cream), fish, meat, chicken, turkey, eggs, fried and greasy foods, margarine, and all other processed foods and animal derived products from your diet. These foods are laced with chemicals, pesticides, and toxins as well as high levels of saturated fats which have a very damaging a draining effect on the immune system and the rest of the body.
salt, tobacco, caffeine, sodas, coffee, sugar, and refined white flour (breads, pastas, cereals- replace with whole wheat pastas, breads, and cereals). These products are extraordinarily destructive to the immune system and the body.

Yoga BagsYou have set your fitness goals and now need to decide which exercises you want to add to your fitness routine to help you burn away that unwanted fat. The best way is to add a combination of both strength training and cardiovascular.
strength training is the most beneficial methods of fat loss. By building muscle, you are in turn increasing your metabolism and helping your body to burn even more calories. Also with strength training, your body begins to burn a large number of calories even after you have finished training.
With strength training you have many options. For beginners or someone who doesn't have access to a gym or equipment, bodyweight exercises are a great option for fat loss. Another option is using the push/pull split. This is a great way to get in a total body workout that allows you to perform more exercises per workout and get more recovery time.
Some key points when doing strength training are make sure to warm up and stretch before your workout, lift the weights in slow, steady movements and don't forget to breathe.
Cardiovascular exercise is the 2nd part of your fat loss fitness routine. Cardio can be done following your strength training or as separate training on the opposite day of strength training. Cardio is not only a great aid to fat loss, but also to help you to maintain a healthy heart. The best form of cardio is HIIT or high Intensity Interval Training. HIIT involves intervals of varying intensities, some very high. Interval training can be as simple as doing an all-out sprint, jogging to lower your heart rate, and then sprinting once again. This should be done anywhere from 15-30 minutes. The advantage to HIIT is that you are burning more calories in a shorter period of time. You can perform HIIT on almost anything, such as bike, treadmill, elliptical, or even bodyweight circuits.
It is best to perform strength training workouts at least 3 times per week and also perform HIIT 3 times per week. Make sure to change up your workouts every 6-8 weeks to avoid a fat loss plateau. Changing your workouts also keeps your workouts fresh and new and makes you less likely to stop doing them and gives you a better chance of reaching your fitness goals!

Siddha Yoga Meditation Center Ridge RoadDo you feel tense and anxious at work? Do your co-workers and/or boss make you crazy? Is your personal life less than blissful? If so, you've got stress. If you're like most people you've sought refuge from this situation by trying a quick fix or two like calling a friend, walking the dog, or going away for the weekend in an attempt to escape it all. While these strategies may serve as temporary diversions, nothing in your life changes when you return to your routine.
stress is internal, which explains why it can wreak havoc on your health. It feels awful...it's the sense that you're not in control. The easiest way to mitigate its effect is to take charge of the one and only thing you have the power to control...YOU, and let go of what you can't control. The beauty of this recipe is that by taking control of your life, external or outside things will change in response to your internal changes. Here are 10 steps to destress for your present and future:
1. Heal yourself.
Dr. Bruce McEwen, who wrote The End of stress As We Know It, suggests that eliminating stress comes right from your grandmother's journal. He says the most effective steps you can take are the simplest: exercise, a healthy diet, regular sleep, moderate to minimal alcohol intake, and no smoking. This, he notes, is the most sophisticated, up to the minute, cutting edge science available!
2. Get organized.
Physical clutter reminds us of things that need to be done and that's stressful. Remove your physical clutter and you'll eradicate your mental clutter, plus you'll feel energized. Please go to http://topten.org/public/AG/AG306.html for a simple organizing solution that will work on any space.
3. Set boundaries.
Boundaries act as a filter to keep you safe from the hurtful behavior of others while allowing in the love, support and nurturing actions we all need. Set your boundaries by: (a) determining what others cannot do to you or in your presence and (b) sharing this information respectfully with anyone who is stepping over one of your boundaries.
4. Take time for yourself.
Put together a list of all the things you love to do but haven't regularly made time to do. Put your list in priority order and enter the top five to seven items into your daily calendar. Your list may include things as simple as journaling, reading a great book, taking a bubble bath, yoga, etc. You'll be more successful getting to these activities when you give them a time and place on your calendar.
5. Be positive.
William James, the father of modern psychology said, "The greatest discovery of my generation is that man can alter his life simply by altering his attitude of mind." In other words, what you say and what you tell yourself impact the present and create your future. love yourself and use the power of positive words, pleasing thoughts and affirming beliefs to live the life you want to live.
If you're like most people, you spend the majority of your waking hours at work. You'll know you're in the right profession when: you wake up anxious to go to work, you want to do your best daily, and you know your work is important.
7. Surround yourself with a supportive community.
You are who you spend time with. Hang out with people who love and accept you just the way you are, are interested in you (not what you can do for them), lift you up (not wear you down), solve problems quickly, don't gossip or complain, and know how to have fun. Anything is possible with the right support.
8. learn to say, "No."
We've all been influenced by people in our life who tell us we should do this or we ought to do that. As a result, we may end up living a life that others have decided for us versus living the life we want. So, the next time you think of something you ought to do or someone else suggests you should do, take a breath and ask yourself if it's something you want to do. If not, just say, "no" or "no thank you." When you say no to things you don't care to do, you are saying yes to you and this will free up your time and energy for the things you choose to do. Bottom line - you'll be happier.
9. Zap tolerations.
A toleration is something that irritates you and drains your energy because it needs to be done, fixed, removed, or changed. If you're like most people you may be tolerating 100 or more things! Put together a list of all the things that bug you, e.g. a dripping faucet, money concerns, your weight, shopping and running errands, not enough time, computer files out of control, your hair, a room that needs to be painted, etc. When your list is complete, group like items and see if one solution will eliminate multiple tolerations. For example, if you have piles of clothing in each bedroom, dirty windows and dust bunnies on your floor, hiring a housekeeper will zap all three tolerations. Line up a housekeeper, today. Then, commit to spending a chunk of time each week to zap your other tolerations. If you have a toleration that you don't have the skill or know-how to fix, consider calling an expert or seek out a skilled professional to trade services with.
10. Get your needs met.
A "need" is not an option, it is something you must have to function fully. It is differentiated from a "want" in that a want is optional. Unmet needs can drive you to distraction and worse. Determine what needs you have that aren't being met, if any, and then take the appropriate action to get them fulfilled. example: If you've taken a big hit and are going through a career transition, ask a good friend to call you two or three times a week to check in with you and give you support. Other options include calling your own voice mail and leaving supportive messages or hiring a coach who specializes in career transitions. When you acknowledge and satisfy your needs, you will be free to focus on other areas of your life.
If you want to be happier and more successful, focus on the things you have the power to control.

Kram Yoga Yoga Ball Yoga Journal Yoga SupplyA Revolution in the way humanity treats itself, and you. The Laws of Nature are a revolution in the way humanity treats itself and therefore a revolution in the way we treat ourselves. The Laws of Nature have the ability to transform the planet in their simpilicity, honesty and integrity. These Laws of Nature are universal laws and by implication, appear everywhere.
The search for truth, is the conscious search for these laws. Evidence of them can be found in music, in dance, in business, healing as well as relationships. The Laws of Nature are found in every walk of life. When we, our business and our humanity lives in harmony with Natures Laws we have success, love and happiness. When not, we have disaster. Our aim is to avoid the latter by sharing Natures Law, with all who are ready. The magnificence of Natures Law is found in simplicity.
In our complex world, we have the opportunity to simplify our understandings by relating everything to nature. Nature is the keeper of those ancient laws which stand the test of time. The forest, the ocean, the sky, species, rocks, plants, animals and insects all have a voice. It requires silence and wisdom to hear it. Chris interprets and applies the Laws of Nature with a single purpose -- to transform the way we live, Chris suggests its not what we think but how we think that will change the world. Nature thinks in accordance with her 5 laws, and when we tune into that we find the harmony for which we search. It can transform every individual, every business and ultimately our global humanity
Stepping out - A Gift of Love - A Global Opportunity
Move beyond that which is comfortable to that which is real. Every star in the universe and every cell in your body operates under the guidance of the five laws of nature. Therefore laws are self evident, universal, because by definition they operate in every walk of life. Imagine the impact on individuals, business and global development if we could share those five simple laws with billions and billions of people. We believe that this gift of love to the world, these five simple laws and the transformation they can make in peoples daily lives is a most inspirational opportunity. It is a phenomena that belongs to humanity.
For 10 years now, Chris Walker has shared these five laws with the world. Traveling ceaselessly he has presented keynotes to corporate audiences, undertaken suicide prevention with indigenous communities in Canada, run self development programs all over the world, taken people to his second home in the Nepalese Himalayas and done thousands upon thousands of one to one guidance sessions tto share this gift.
A Universal Law, by definition, operates everywhere. Nature is a mirror of those laws. Humanity is also a mirror of those laws. You know you are inspired, you know there is more to life and you know the value of simplicity to humanity. The Laws of Nature take you beyond the realms of morals and ethics, religion, cultures, wars and peace. You will see those laws mirrored in human dynamics, and distorted in human emotion, and our societies challenges. There is a breathtaking opportunity, one of the most precious gifts a person can imagine, understanding the laws behind the laws behind the laws, behind the laws of everything. This is where you will be challenged, inspired and you will feel your life touched deeply and lovingly.
How do the Laws of Nature affect you?
Following the Laws of Nature, you will rid yourself of clutter, physically and mentally as this will bring a purity to your life. If emotions start to obstruct your journey, by following some simple instructions, you will be able to transform any experience back to truth, love, spontaneously.
To grow spiritually, there is a merging of stillness and fluidity. Stillness is vital because unless the mind is still, it cannot find truth. Fluidity, because the world itself is fluid, ever changing around us in busy chance events. This is the skill, stillness and fluidity all at once.
Imagine spending a lot of time in nature, you are running your fingers over the solid trunk of a tree, picking up a stone and notice its aged patterns, examining the fragility of a leaf, and letting water flow through your fingers. With the study of lifes laws as mirrored in nature, you will see how every object of nature is obedient to the laws, bound to them inescapably. Then, you may reflect that we as humans, a part of nature, are also subject to the same laws. It is a magnificent awakening.
How can you apply the Laws of Nature in your life?
The Laws of Nature applied to Business and Leadership The laws of nature apply to business management and leadership. You can examine competitive strategy and how nature can predict competitive market dynamics. Further, you can examine critical issues reflected from the laws of nature in planning for the future, brand management, asset and resource structuring. Applying natures approach to sustainable leadership, teamwork, personal mastery and culture pin points, are the foundation of all hierarchies in nature.
The Laws of Nature applied to Staff Selection
Be in your Element is a revolution in self and other management. Created in Australia, based on ancient teachings, it presents a powerful way to encourage people to work and live in harmony with their natural best. Be in Your Element can transform workplaces, relationships and lifestyles. Just by knowing a persons Elemental Constitution, you will know the best way to manage, allocate work, inspire and avoid conflict. An organic, yet powerfully dynamic means of human development.
The Laws of Nature applied to Living Inspired
To be inspired is to be enthusiastic about life while remaining humble to it. Inspiration requires mastery of space, environment, mind, body and connection to a higher source. Chris will share a huge diversity of process to help you achieve this. Including Yoga, Tibetan meditation, mind power skills, body-mind energy projection, nerve calasthenics and creative skills. The end result is the ability to achieve a state of inspiration, anywhere, anytime no matter what the circumstance.
The Laws of Nature applied to Myself
Who am I? Where am I going? Why am I here? Where did I come from? How do I feel? What is natures intent for life. The 5 Laws of Nature can or could affect the way you life, think, love and work. Apply these laws to the judgments and expectations you have and see if they pass the acid test of the laws of nature. This is about acceptance and ownership.
The Laws of Nature Applied to Peace of Mind
The 5 Laws of Nature will be challenging some long-held beliefs and opening up new possibilities for your mind. The importance of personal truth, the difference between truth and perception and how to change it will create peace of mind.
The Laws of Nature Applied to Relationship
The five Laws of Nature applied to the dynamics of relationships, love, attraction, intimacy and the dynamics of families. Nature bridges the gap between aspiration and truth in the quest for a deeper, more loving relationship. Other keys we learn from natures laws are - Letting go, getting over the past, confidence, trust and attraction. This insight into the universal laws of love and conscious relationship will be a great gift to treasure and apply.
The Laws of Nature Applied to health, Energy, healing, Vitality
A walk in nature, stretching the body, connecting body and mind, moving energy with thought, healing wounds, preventing disease, living as nature intended, the importance of sunlight, posture and breath for youthfulness and longevity. Preventative maintenance and daily habits for healthy living. This is natures maintenance program, understanding the opportunities and the myths. This is not about mung beans and organic apples.
The Laws of Nature applied to Career and Work
In nature, everything has a purpose. Nature has a purpose and all the elements within her web serve that purpose. If a frog tried to become a bird, it would never be happy. In this session, a vital key is revealed through natures law regarding living from our heart, putting our heart into what we do. Natures Law shows us how. What did nature intend for our lives, what are your wishes, dreams and inspirations and how do they align with natures intention for your life? A Vision Quest is a creative opportunity to learn how to tune into natures voice and guidance, including your own body, Natures Bible.
The Laws of Nature applied to Global Contribution
Each and every seed in nature is unique. Its purpose is part of something beyond itself. As is ours. Our role in making a global contribution is called our life purpose. Bringing spirit to life. In tune with the Laws of Nature, knowing your life purpose is one of the most vital and inspirational possibilities in life.
Laws of Nature - The Future - Daily habits and rituals to connect to Your Spirit. Let nature be your guide.
Higher Thinking - balance
What is Love but balance. This law of nature reveals the heartbreak, the failure and all suffering of humanity. A balanced mind, is natures mind, two sides revealed.
There are many negative or destructive forms of thought which react in every cell of your body. The strongest is fear and its child, worry. They bring tension to the body and mind leading to waste of energy, and either slow or rapid poisoning of the body. Rage, intense fear and shock are very violent and quickly intoxicate the system. Worry and other destructive emotions act more slowly but in the end have the same effect. Anger and intense fear stop digestive action. Higher thinking is therefore firstly about health and wellbing but ultimately, our affect on the world.
Growth
It is said in the east that on the spiritual path, the first thing to be learned is how to unlock what has already been learned then unlearn it. It requires humility and means letting go of our self-centered individuality. We must become flexible in our ways with an awareness that all our ideas and opinions are just a collection of erroneous facts that have been adopted as truth.
Letting go is the ultimate challenge in life. Letting go is the ultimate lesson in love. Letting go is hard to do. It is the most powerful testimony to the conflict between mind and love. Letting go of a lover, a loved one, a child a family. Letting go of a hope or a friendship, these are emotional and physical pains that only spiritual truth can resolve at their core, by turning emotion to love, evolution as nature intended.
Letting go is a powerful confrontation. It may be considered the greatest challenge of all. Because when mind and love come to argue the battle is fierce. Ultimately, only love can win, nature has determined it through her laws.
Abundance
It is not the absence of possessions that frees a person, quite the opposite. But it is the absence of attachment, the absence of greed and the absence of fear that makes a person happy. Truly a happy person is happy, without anything, and equally happy with everything.
Victor Frankel reminds us that all things can be taken from us but we are still able to choose the abundance of our heart.
There is a lot of confusion about abundance in our society. People think that it is about wanting and having and getting and receiving. That is not true abundance because its connected with just one form of life.
Just throw away imaginary thoughts of things not yet here, and stand firm in that which you are Kabhir
Harmony
Natures Laws in harmony with life - one moment standing in the midst of nature with an open heart is like a life time of fulfillment.
A lack of harmony has disastrous effects on the world, all the troubles on our earth come from this dissymmetry. All the tragedy in the world, in the individual and the multitude, comes from this lack of harmony, and harmony is best given by producing it in ones own life. We see that the world today needs harmony more than ever before.
If one is in tune with themselves and the rhythms of nature, then one moment standing in the midst of nature with an open heart is like a life-time of fulfillment.
Hierarchy
Even an open heart will close, if the desires of the heart are not being expressed - the artist must paint, the sculptor must sculpt, the doctor must heal. All inner, personal work must result in action for this is the expression of inner Spirit. Expression is giving. Happiness and wellness depend on it.
Inspiration is when the inner voice speaks louder than the outer voice. In other words, self-motived people. At the heart of this philosophy is the acknowledgment that we need to bring new skills to everyday life to remain inspired. Sustaining our humanity as the world takes new shapes is vital and our connection to nature is becoming more important and more difficult.

Music Inspired By Yoga TvIf you are trying to lose weight by only following a diet program that restricts calories, you tend to burn muscle protein first and slow down your metabolism. That is why physical exercise is necessary and beneficial to our health and weight loss program.
If you wish to speed up your weight loss through exercises, there are two types of exercise that are effective in burning unwanted fat and not lean body mass. Aerobics and resistance training are known to specifically burn body fat and increase metabolism.
These exercises also keep metabolism raised round the clock so you burn calories even while you sleep, change body composition by reducing fat and increasing muscle mass, improve body's ability to increase insulin and carbohydrate sensitivities and therefore not storing carbohydrate as fat.
Aerobic exercise involves regular, continuous, steady and rhythmic movement that is sustained for at least 20 minutes at the same pace. This type of exercise strengthens your heart and lung as well as your bones. When you do aerobics at moderate pace, your body prefers to burn fat which is already stored as body fat.
Fat-burning exercises are jogging, walking, cycling, swimming and aerobic classes. Anyone of these exercises are not difficult to do and to get motivated and avoid boredom, you can alternate these exercises.
When you walk, ensure that it is a steady nonstop brisk walking, at a pace that raises your heartbeat and makes you feel like you are exerting yourself. If you are new to jogging, start with brisk walking, then gradually add short stints of jogging, one minute of slow jogging and then back to walking for a few minutes.
The other effective exercise to burn fat and build muscle effectively is resistant or weight training. This training uses your muscle to push against gravity, and in the process of resisting it, you increase the strength, endurance and power to your muscles.
Therefore any exercises that make your muscles work are in fact resistant training. This includes activities such as climbing stairs, doing sit-ups etc. This type of exercise tones and firm your muscles and improves your shape and appearance. If you are working with weights, you might want to start with a low weight and gradually add more resistance by using heavier weights. This will train the muscle to work harder and grow stronger.
By building muscle, you create more metabolically active tissue, and muscles burn more energy even when at rest than does fat. The more muscle mass you build the more you will increase your metabolism.
Be sure to start any exercises with a warm-up and end with a cool-down. Warmups increase blood flow to your muscles and tendons and lubricate your joints and prepare them for the exercises. The cooldowns slow your heart rate gradually back to normal and give your body time to wind down. Cool-down means the slowed-down version of your main activity plus some serious stretching.
Once you have reached your weight loss goal, you may want to cut back slightly on your physical activity and maintain your weight loss through proper eating pattern.
